LT476 Little Gem Lettuce

Little Gem romaine lettuce seeds produce small, personal size, mini romaine heads that will fit in the palm of your hand. This variety was popularized as a gourmet heirloom treat in England. These little gems grow to about 4″ in diameter and are best picked when they are 6″ tall. By then they will have developed their tasty and tender blanched hearts. Outer leaves are crisp and firm, semi-savoyed, and vivid green. Plant short rows at regular weekly intervals from April to July for a harvest that doesn’t come all at once. Try some in containers or even window boxes. Winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
